A week of preparation this week.
The remaining excavations from last week have been filled with concrete to create a level base across the site.
Reinforcement steel has arrived and work has started on forming the steel cages which will strengthen the concrete base of the new museum buildings. These rest on the piles which were installed last week.
Work has also begun on making the timber shuttering that will contain the concrete base when it is poured.
Another PEASE brick has been found. This one is buff-coloured rather than red and appears to be older. The same buff bricks were used to build the nearby seaside resort of Saltburn by the Sea, which was founded by Henry Pease.
