The three-day working week impacted progress as many subcontractors took the whole week off.
The first pour of the concrete for the access ramps took place as planned. The second pour, planned for Wednesday, was cancelled due to rain being forecast. In the end, it was blue skies and sunny! The second pour has been rescheduled for next week.
The entrance door frame has been fitted. Regrettably without the glazing! That is (hopefully) coming next week. The large window frames on the stairs to the Tom Leonard gallery were fitted - again without glass!
Indoors, painting has started - spaces like the second floor now look even bigger!
All interior doors have been fitted as well as many of the door architraves and skirtings.
The roof has been completed on the link between the tunnel tour and the reception - just the concrete for the floor to float.
This week, several people have said that the museum is looking more like a building and less like a building site!
Nothing much to see on the drone photos, now that work has moved indoors. These photos will not be updated every week unless there is something new worth seeing. This is an exciting sign that the construction project is getting closer to completion.
