In spite of a wet and windy start to the week, hidden behind the scaffolding, the facing brickwork has come on apace this week. This is now almost complete to the top of the first floor.
The main roof timbers are now all in place and joiners started to construct the openings for the Velux roof lights (there will be 14 in total) after these were delivered this week.
Inside, the walls of the fire-proof archive are almost complete. The concrete "lid" will be poured next week.
Electrical and mechanical subcontractors started this week and there are already cable trays in place on the ground floor.
Next week, brickwork moves up to the second floor, the rest of the Velux openings are installed, electrical and mechanical work progresses, the roof trusses arrive for the object store and the main roof begins to be felted and battened.
