Good weather this week has allowed further progress on the main roof. The north face has been largely covered in slates and framing around the Vellux windows installed.

Indoors, the insulation and pipework for the underfloor heating on the second floor have been installed.

The staircase between the first floor of the new building and the Tom Leonard Gallery has been completed.

Ventilation ducting, including a heat exchange unit, has been installed in the object-store. This will provide fresh air to the exhibition gallery.

The scaffolding around the existing buildings has been removed to give a view of the new roof on the temporary exhibition space.

Next week the screed will be poured on the second floor and slates will be fitted to further areas of the main roofs.
