Dig deep into the coal mining heritage of the North, with a screening of a new short In the Veins.
Commissioned by Teesside University and produced by Yorkshire Film Archive and North East Film Archive, this is a story of hardship and hope, division and defiance, perseverance and pride. In the Veins, resonates through time to shine a light onto the face of the mining heritage of Yorkshire and the North East of England.
Four decades on from one of the longest industrial disputes of the 20th century, it’s an important time to reflect on the rich history of mining in the UK, how it has affected the people, places, and identity of those that were involved.
We are delighted to be screening this new film for our visitors every hour in the event space at Land of Iron on Saturday 16th November and Monday 18th November. Film screening is included in the price of admission.
